The Wine Country Racing Association (WCRA) hosted 77 race cars on the final event of their 2011 season. Viewers were treated to 224 races as the participants fought their way to the top. Winners are as follows:

Okanagan Car Club Challenge

Three Car Clubs – Okanagan Rodtiques, Kelowna Kustoms & Oliver Coachmasters – took up the Challenge for bragging rights at the final WCRA event of the season.

The Ron Tasker Memorial Sportsmanship Trophy for the 2011 racing year
was awarded to Bruce Mackereth of Summerland who drives a White 1955 Chev.

Fifty-three vehicles lined up on Sunday, September 18 at the Richter Pass Motorplex in Osoyoos, BC to find who was fastest.

Race results – May 29, 2011

The Wine Country Racing Association (WCRA) held their second event of the 2011 racing season on Sunday May 29, 2011. Forty-one racecars converged upon the Richter Pass Motorplex in Osoyoos to burn their tires, rev their engines and fight it out for first place.

Bragging rights now belong to the following winners:

Sportsman Bracket:

Baillie Ericson of Osoyoos took first place in the Sportsman’s Bracket in her ’03 Infinity by knocking out Shane Harris of Osoyoos.

Pro Bracket:

Ernie Bartelson from Oroville, WA drove his “Glory Daze” 1951 Chevrolet to victory over Osoyoos’ Neil Ericson for the Pro Bracket final.

Bike/Sled:

David Lee Madsen of Summerland led the Bike/Sled group on his Arctic Cat snowmobile, with a win in the final over Steve Macor from Osoyoos.

Fastest Reaction Time:

Larry Jamieson from Grand Forks won the fastest reaction with a very nearly perfect time of .501 seconds. Only 1/1000 of a second off of the sought after .500 perfect light.


Race results – May 15, 2011

The inaugural race of the 2011 season for the Wine Country Racing Association was a success. The event had 46 cars register to race. The weather co-operated perfectly for the day to go off without a hitch.
