About the WCRA
The Wine Country Racing Association is a non-profit society run by a board of directors. The group’s main goal is to provide a safe, back-to-the-basics outlet for those with a need for speed – in other words, to remove some of the temptation to drag race on our public roads.
The WCRA is a volunteer-run organization and is always in need of more help. Contact any of the directors to get involved.
The History
The Wine Country Racing Association was established in 2002 to provide automotive enthusiasts with a legal outlet to race their cars, rather than street racing, which is dangerous and illegal.
Interested members of a local car club called “The Coachmasters” joined in, and the group was formed.
With the money raised, the group purchased a professional Christmas Tree Starting System from Race America of California, which is capable of displaying reaction time, red-light starts, and ET.
June 25, 2006 was the first 1/8 mile drag race held on the newly-paved Osoyoos Airport, now known as the Richter Pass Motorplex.
Please come out and join us this season!
